David Hearst, the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Middle East Eye calls Turkiye's newly appointed Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan as one to be taken seriously by other foreign secretaries across the world.
Hearst says "today's diplomatic minefield presents myriad challenges that Fidan is uniquely qualified to navigate" in his article for the the Middle East Eye.
He praises the former head of Turkiye's intelligence agency MIT, for his ability to be able to "comfortable debating the poor prospects of Scottish independence as he is Islamic theology."
