A ceremony to mark the 102nd anniversary of the inauguration of the Turkish Grand National Assembly has brought Sydney's Turkish community together at the Hyde Park Ataturk Memorial on Saturday, 23 April.
Known as the The National Sovereignty and Children's Day, the day is a national celebration of the abolishment of the aristocratic Ottoman family rule over the fate of the Turkish people. Ataturk gifted the day to the children of Turkey.
Various other events were held across the country by the members of the Australian-Turkish community.
